Types Of Online Blackjack
There are two main types of online blackjack: Virtual Blackjack and Live Blackjack. Both follow the same rules, but your gaming experience will be very different.
Virtual Blackjack
Virtual Blackjack is a common blackjack online game. In this computer game version, you play on a virtual table. The game is kept fair with a Random Number Generator, which ensures the results are fair and random. Choose this version if:
- If you like a fast pace.
- Or you want to play for very small amounts.
- You do not like waiting.
Live Blackjack
Live Blackjack gives you a more realistic casino experience. You get to see a casino host dealing cards. Everything is streamed live, and you can chat with the host. You can often choose between different camera angles. The pace can be slightly slower than with Virtual Blackjack, and you might have to wait for a seat at the table. Choose this version if:
- You like the excitement of traditional casinos.
- You do not mind waiting.
- You wish to interact with your host.
Live Blackjack Variations
Live Blackjack has several variations, which you can find on various online casinos.
- Common Draw Blackjack: Here, the dealer deals only one set of cards. All players can choose whether to hit, stand, split or double. Each player will have their own game outcome, depending on the choice they made.
- Perfect Blackjack: >In perfect blackjack, players do not need to make any choices. The game is played automatically, according to the best possible strategy. This reduces the house edge to 0.5%
- VIP Blackjack: VIP’s are nothing more or less than high rollers. VIP tables have much higher limits than regular tables.
- Bet Behind Blackjack: If there is no space at a blackjack table, you can choose to bet behind another player, who does have a seat. The best scoring players will usually be indicated on a leader board.

Online Blackjack Rules882
Blackjack has several variations, however, most casinos stick to classic blackjack. In the blackjack online game, you play against the casino. However, there could be up to seven other players at the same table.
- The aim of the game is to get 21, without going over that number. You also need to get a higher score than the dealer. If you have 21 or less, and a higher score than the dealer, you win.
- Each card has its own number as a value. The ace can be either 1 or 11. The jack, queen and king have the value 10. There is no joker.
- The dealer will deal himself one card, face-up, while dealing you two cards.
- It is up to you whether to hit, stand, double or split.
- Once you have all your cards, the dealer will deal himself more cards.
Bet
Before any round starts, you need to place a bet. Make sure you have money in your account, or bonus funds to play with. There is always a minimum bet, which varies, depending on which game you are playing.
Hit
If you are nowhere near 21, the best choice is to hit. This will bring you closer to 21.
Stand
If you are close to 21, without being over 21, you should choose to stand. This means you accept your score and wait for the dealer to deal himself a card. Most blackjack guides advise standing on 16 or 17. Online casino dealers are instructed to stand at these scores as well.
Double
If the value of your first two cards in 9, 10 or 11, you can choose to double your bet. If you have one of these, there is a good chance you will get a high score. Since 10 is the highest value of any card, there is no chance you can go over 21. There is one snag, however: after doubling down, you can only get 1 more card.
Split
If you receive two identical cards on your first turn, you can choose to split. You can place a second bet and will get another chance to win. The rules of the game are still the same. If you split two aces, you can only get one more card per ace, similar to the double rule above. If you get a card with value ten (J, K, Q or 10), you will only have 21 and not Blackjack. This is still a wise move and greatly improves your winning chances.
Insurance (Even Money Bet)
If the dealer’s first card is an ace, you can choose to insure yourself against blackjack. This is a side bet, so if the dealer has blackjack, you will get even money on your bet. This is also known as the Even Money Bet. This is one of the worst strategies in Blackjack since it gives the casino a house edge of 8%.
Blackjack Pays
Most blackjack tables pay 3/2. So if you bet £100, you will get £150 back if you win.
