Hello there, it’s Dave here taking a look at one of the most popular new video slot machines at the moment – Elements. Now I’d like to think the reason this game is so popular is because it’s got a science theme to it, and like me everyone’s a closet geek. Sadly I suspect it’s because the game looks pretty good and can pay out up to 300,000 coins!

About the Elements Slot Machine
Alright, so the science theme is a fairly loose one in Elements, but it doesn’t stop you from admiring the 3D graphics, smooth animations and very calm and relaxing cinematic soundtrack. As well as chemical elements the main theme revolves around the traditional elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, and all the game symbols have their own unique animations if they are involved in a winning combo. The game is a hybrid of reels and the avalanche mechanic, which I think works very nicely.
Important Symbols
There are no scatter-type symbols in Elements, so the only other key symbol to watch for is the wildcard. This can obviously substitute for any other standard symbol to help you win combos. In this game the wildcard only ever appears on columns 2 to 5. Wildcards work in both standard play and the free-fall round.
Payout Table and Win Potential
In common with most video slots there’s a comprehensive pay table you can read via the game’s handy “pay table” button. The basic jackpot in the standard game is only 1,500 coins, but the clever free-fall round can really ramp this up because more wildcards come into play.
Elements Bonus Features
Each “element” in the game Elements has its own free-fall storm mode. You access them by counting up wins during standard play. Every win gets you a step nearer the bonus mode. You need 4 to collect. When you get into the free spin (sorry, fall!) mode you get 10 free plays. Each of the different bonus modes has it’s own wildcard feature. These are more numerous than in standard play to help you rack up more wins.
The Fire Wildcards can change 2 neighbouring symbols into additional wildcards – this way you can get the wildcards on all 5 columns.
The Air Wildcards will appear randomly in two places and then stay there (like sticky wilds). After the first successful fall they will then move to a neighbouring spot.
Earth wildcards only show up on the middle three columns and then stay there (like Air). These ones are completely persistent until you have three avalanches or no more winning combos.
The Water wildcard is the only one that expands, and this one can show up on columns 2, 3, or 4 and is responsible for some of the biggest payouts in Elements.
Game Settings and How To Play Elements
No surprises here, like many video slot games it’s just a case of choosing your coin value and how many lines to play. Coins can be from €0.01 to €0.50, and the maximum bet per “spin” is €100.00. If you ever want to just go for it, there is a “max bet” button that will automatically wager the full amount and spin the reels. There’s the classic auto play function as well, where you can choose how many spins you want the game to make on your behalf and you can then just leave it playing without you having to touch a thing.
There are plenty of setting to tweak if you need to. The control icons at the bottom of the game screen allow you to adjust volume levels, change the level of the graphics quality, access a help screen with full game information, set the level of ambient sounds, and so on. You can also set a hotkey shortcut so you don’t have to use the mouse if playing on PC, which is great. For players who are using real cash you’ve also got access to a full game history with details of all your wagers and winnings for those who like to keep a close eye on things.
So in summary, this is a pretty, and pretty straightforward game that has got massively popular thanks to the huge 300,000 coin win potential without having to pay high roller spin prices. It’s a great combination and the mix of features and exciting wildcard play means it’s fun to play even as a free game. Definitely one everyone should check out.
